Hey, folks are not applying to the NYPD because of the top pay. A cop in NYC tops out at 59K while a Port Authority cop gets 88K and a Nassau cop gets 91K. The starting salary is a red herring. It lasts only until the rookie graduates the academy, sis months.

He's very good at it. And I think the cancellation of the May 9th demonstration was key in his getting the public to forget about things like making thousands of "children first" stand out in the cold. How the cancellation serves teachers, children, parents, or anyone who doesn't share this mayor's agenda of controlling publicity eludes me utterly.
