Yes, you're right. I think he'll have even more to say when he gets a little more experience, and I'm in the unique position of being able to watch this happen. As a beginning ESL teacher, you likely see more progress than most if not all of your colleagues.

Beautifully written!
I suggest you add some more details or background and submit it to the NY Times Magazine "Lives" section. I'd love to read it there, and we should always be on the lookout for chances to compellingly give a glimpse into the education profession to a larger audience.

Thanks for the kind words, Kitchen Sink. However, at this point, the primary reason this blog is anonymous is because I want to continue writing stories like this one. I'm not really sure if doing it under my real name would be respecting their privacy.
