Was anyone from Unity there to support these teachers at the meeting?
Where are they going to send all the kids from Jamaica HS? August Martin is closing down, FK Lane is closing down and Far Rockaway is closing down....

They'll send them to either Beach Channel or John Adams HS, then in a year's time, declare THEM failing schools, and continue the vicious cycle of destruction.
From a moral point of view James Eterno is a billionaire while Joel Klein is morally bankrupt. To destroy a school like Jamaica High School and the tradition that goes with it is just another example of Kleinberg's "child Last" program.
Screw the students, parents, and teachers, what billionaires Gates & Dell want is more important then the people of Jamaica High School.
FRANCIS LEWIS HIGH SCHOOL GETS EVERY CLOSED SCHOOL'S DEFLECTIONS. It's probably the most overcrowded high school in the country. His Highness the principal should be ashamed of himself, not laughing, as he was according to the NY Post a few weeks ago.
Thank you for the kind words Mr. NYC Educator. We have a viable school and we want the world to know that reality. 89 people came from Jamaica to express how our school is being strangled by the DOE to the Panel for Education Policy on Monday night.
That James organized all these people to go to the PEP, the Unity Caucus leaflet handed out at the DA on Weds attacked ICE for not being at Julia Richman that same night where the UFT "belatedly" I might add, were there with their Exec Bd meeting. I might add that ICE mail and Ed Notes have been reporting on the attempt by BloomKlein to sell the building to Hunter College and move the 6 schools at Julia Richman for well over a year. A number of marches and protests have been held and barely noticed by the UFT. Randi is trying to get all her dibs in on her resume as supporting all sorts of causes before semi-departing the scene.

The UFt was not there to support Jamaica but to support the school psychologists - not a bad thing, mind you, but years late in using the PEP as a platform to attack BloomKlein. They get active when the song is almost over.
