Gravatar No shout out for the lab techs? At least housekeeping works out there in the public area. The poor under appreciated lab staff are stuck in gizmo land.

Gravatar Very nice post.

Gravatar I know I didn't put in the lab techs, but patients do have some exposure to the lab via those ice folks who come around with sharp needles at 5AM.

Gravatar I'm a teacher, and this is true in schools, also!

Gravatar Personally, and this may be a unique point of view, I think doctors are the hardest people to find in a hospital. Also, I think patients (the sick ones) are the easiest to find - I noticed that you didn't put them in your list. (Also, they are usually the ones who can't find a doctor.)

Gravatar TIA

Gravatar Also, I think (being a sucker for a good homonym(sp)) that patience is also hard to find in a hospital.

Gravatar No love for the radiologists and pathologists?

Gravatar Also was (i)t as good for you as i(t) was for me? I'd like to know.

Gravatar I used to work as a nocturnalist, 6pm to 6am, and those were my best friends! Along with the admissions staff, nursing supervisors and patient transporters.
The small community hospital is a lonely place in the wee hours.

Gravatar Great Post. Andy one of the reasons I love working in a hospital. There's always something going on.

Gravatar Thanks for the shout out to scrub techs/nurses. As an OR nurse, I can attest to how fun it is to hang with my friends in surgery, including the docs and PA's. And when you're on call, working with good people makes all the difference!

Gravatar The OR crew is definitely much happier than the ER crew, although, I think the ER crew gets to drink more and therefore probably puts on a much livelier party. I am jealous of their parties but would never trade the OR's unique sense of humor.
