$\"Gravatar\"$ And these are just the sort of issues that gave Scholastic philosophy and theology a bad name, just when average lay folks were looking for more spirituality as opposed to the puzzles of the intellectuals in the Church. Very unfortunately, since Aquinas' reconciliation of classical philosophy with Christian faith is a monumental accomplishment (for instance) that then got lost to the Protestant Christians. I like your statement of the problem, but I guess I would put more emphasis on the limits of our reason when it comes to God's infinite nature.

$\"Gravatar\"$ Yes I had to cut it short as I was getting longer with the post than I planned. My main point being it's our limits in various ways, not that God is not logical, which is the problem with our understanding.
