There is a BIG difference between God KNOWING that Socrates will stand up now (or lead a life that will end in Heaven or Hell), and God MAKING Socrates do this, that or any other thing.

Augustine pointed out that we must accept God's omniscience in order to believe well, and in man's free will in order to live well.

Yes, unfortunately some will not accept that no matter what. I suspect it makes for an easy way to reject God.
