Well said, Mark. It's a complex and emotional issue—the kind best settled by making the moral choice, instead of simply bending to the shrillest voices.

One thing I admire about the President is that he respect the vote of Americans. He doesn't care about polls, he cares about votes. He was voted President and uses his executive power to the fullest extent. He doesn't veto because he knows the Senate and House were voted in and unless it's a grave moral matter, like abortion, stem cell research or some like issue, he won't veto it. I think it's rather admirable.
