If she had a halfway decent brain, she could have looking things up rather easily. Go to google, type in "steel temperature weaken." Or she could just call me up - both grandfather, my father, uncle, and well just about everyone else in my area, at one time or another worked for Armco/now AK Steel you can check them out here. So, I know a thing or two. Depending on the exact composition or grade of the steel used, and the source of your information, steel can begin to soften at either 300 or 425 degrees Celsius (572 or 797 degrees Fahrenheit). By the time it reaches 550C (1020F), it may have lost anywhere from 40 - 50% of its strength. Supposedly, the type used in buildings that collapsed was supposed to lose about half its strength around 650C (1202 F). There are claims that the fires from the crash led to temperatures as high as 1,500C (2700F), some higher, some a little lower. Either way, those fires and the areas around them, would certainly be high enough to at least weaken nearby steel to at least half its strength at normal room temperatures. Of course, the weakening of the steel does not fully answer the reason of why or how things happened that day, of course other building materials, their strength, how affected by heat, etc. would have to be looked into, but I think you get the point. I agree with you, and I think Rosie needs to learn to check some facts or have her head examined. Maybe one day, her brain will be displayed in a jar, dissected and studied so we can understand her type and how not to let her idiocy run rampant. For some reason, Green Day's "American Idiot" chorus is now stuck in my head.
