I always liked the title "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" better than Blade Runner. (I read the story before seeing the movie.)

Blade Runner is one of my all time faves as well, though I haven't seen it in years.... Good pick!

Gravatar Who knew Vince was so profound? Yes, I remember that night very well. He seemed to know more a/b blues clubs in the Crenshaw area than I do! Cool guy, and I'm glad I stood on the sidelines while poor Rose clammed up...I really just wanted to see how he'd act with you guys from afar, and he was just a regular cat. The bar part of Canter's is called the Kibitz Room and some really amazing folks have played impromptu shows there. I heard that Bob Dylan's son once did a set with his band in the early days.

Gravatar Now that you mention that Old Spice cologne dad used to wear...I remember that very well. I was younger than you when he died, so my memories and even the afterthoughts are much more sweet and childish than bittersweet It is basically difficult for me to think of him in any way other than cool, since I never knew any better and truly, I never really KNEW the man. Sometimes fiction is easier to swallow and your image of someone is better than reclaiming the truth.
Actually, the aftershave thing reminds me that for Father's Day once, I bought him some BRUT cologne ("the essence of man") and even though that crap stunk pretty bad (hey, what little girl knows what to buy their dad for Father's Day?- I only bought it b/c that chick from Weird Science/Woman in Red was hocking it at the time and she seemed to know it ALL). Anyways, he totally put it on and didn't even flinch from the stink, like it was the best gift he'd ever gotten.
