Democracy is fairly new to the world.
In the early 1900's there were only 11 democracies.. USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and 6 others.
China has a 5000 year history so democracy will possibly come eventually, but certainly not soon.
In the meantime, just about every product seems to come from China these days.
Tough break for the journalist all the same. I feel for him.

Well, for those of us in the free (?) world, it is fortunate that such a thing could not happen to us, or could it? Seems most anything can be declared a terrorist threat if the right spin is put on it. After all, it is now OK to detain American Citizens indefinitely with out charges being drawn or the right to a speedy trial driving the train. I for one believe Yahoo.com should not have sold this guy out for anything. I guess I know what they will do with any information I entrust to them, and for that reason I see no reason to do such a thing any more. Doesn't sound like they gave the guy any warning either. That sucks!
