It's nice to see that Kirk still lives, after he went AWoL when faced with Ben Edelman's questions.
I understand that Kirk is speaking on behalf of his company, however, I'd like a statement that isn't laced with the company line. Even the recent 180Solutions press release wasn't quite this heavy handed.
As for the tried and "true" outraged, innocent vendor, you (like the rest) don't get to play that card. There are DOCUMENTED (IE proof), that questionable means have been utilized to install YOUR software. The burden of proof and change is on AskJeeves, not Sunbelt or the community.
When you've proven that you have your distribution channels cleaned up and that your policing policies are working, the security community as a whole will respond appropriately. Until that point in time, you're going to be met with a guarded and untrusting response.
