Last week I caught a log with The spy Guard also attacking desktops, promoting it's rogue product.
They just keep on coming.

I got hit with this pest but I don't think I've ever been to game4all's website. I put up screenshots of my situation on my blog, in addition to some notes about what triggered BraveSentry and what I did with it. Please take a look if you get a chance.
My ultimate solution was to restore my PC from an earlier system image file. But if you uncover additional info about BraveSentry etal, I'd love to learn more.
Thanks for being on top of this.

I forgot to mention that this first started when I opened (actually wrote in--not clicked a link) to www.hqamateurs.com. I belong to a bunch of artists groups so figured it was one of them. It opened to a porn page. I immediately tried to close it (I'm telling the truth) and noticed it was going away really slow. Something told me something was up. Then I got the popup "Your computer's in danger" and "Windows has detected spyware/adware" which I clicked on. Brave Sentry. It started scanning, which I let it--not knowing it wasn't legit--and only stopped it when I noticed a spelling mistake somewhere. The rest is history...PJ

PJ -- you need to make sure your machine is patched with the latest MS updates. You shouldn't have been hit with this. Go to windowsupdate.microsoft.com

i was hit with it and PCODEC, and same thing - notice the typo after the fact. i hadn't registered my windows or mcafree or symatec protections (yes, I have all three). And than I couldn't get rid of it. The PCODEC was impossible to move for a week, then dropping in the portected recycle bin actually worked today.

I am having trouble finding instructions on how to get rid of this puppy. I am really not into spending money on another protection program since I already have PCcillin. Any way to get rid of this without more financial cost?

Brave Sentry has eaten both my home and both office computers and do you know what the link to both is ---- Myspace.com ----- It is the only thing that I go to the same exact site on each of the three systems and it produced the same desktop effects on all three. A white screen and firewall disabled-Myspace is evil and I know that is a big spreader of Brave Sentry. Spybot S+D has quarantined it but still it has my firewall disabled? If anyone can tell me how to enable my firewall again or properly deal with what S+D comes up with please email me @ Info@DriveRightAutos.Com
Thanks,Steve
