I think it's about time some solid, reasonable definitions of both adware and spyware were adopted by everyone associated with either. I agree with Alex in that adware -- the applications that serve up advertising -- is much different than ad-supported software. I'm betting Pamela's mixup is a genuinely innocent error. Often, however, the semantics involved are conveniently ignored by many when it serves their purposes. This is especially true where adware and spyware are used interchangeably.
