This is funny:
"We are serving WAY TOO MANY pops per hour," wrote Chief Technology Officer Daniel Doman in a June e-mail to the company's brass. "If we overdo it, we will really drive users to get us the hell [off] their machine. We need to BACK OFF or we will kill our base."
Personally, if I see even just ONE single pop-up ad, it is enough to drive me to figure out what caused it and to get it the hell off my system. But obviously that's just me; otherwise DirectRevenue would not have a base and would never make any money.
On another note, I simply can't imagine being the CTO of an evil craptastic company like that. What a waste of MIS training.
And I wouldn't mind if some of these threats were dead serious. Not that I want anyone to get hurt, but I have to confess that the image of these slimeballs actually fearing for their safety and having to look over their shoulders wherever they go as a result of their misdeeds is one that brings a certain feeling of satisfaction.
