Actually, if you have an old PC laying around collecting dust, you could build your OWN firewall/router. Plenty of good packages out there (IPCop anyone?). And, best of all, they're free!

Wouldn't turning off ICS and Windows Firewall be a good thing as long as the person got another firewall?

As I understand it, Windows Firewall is inferior to most programs such as your own Kerio or other firewalls, Comodo, Zone Alarm, etc...
