Can these sites harm Opera running in Linux?

That's what I like about running Linux. There may be some exploits, but they're certainly not as numerous as those in Windows.

I'm especially glad I wasn't using IE when I was on metacafe and was redirected to drivecleaner's site.


These two sites don't contain exploits, just deceptive ActiveX prompts ("genuine software update") and direct links to the malware. That is, you have to download/execute the malware or agree to execute the ActiveX to get infected (this of course it doesn't mean it's anything but a scam, however).


Thanks for your replies. I guess I worded my last comment wrongly, though. Perhaps Linux does contain as many vulnerabilities as Windows does; they're just not as widely exploited.
