This is weird and I certainly feel for the woman caught up in it.

If she reported it and was told by her supervisors "not to worry" who ended up calling in the police and starting this mess?

It's an illustration of how you need a good lawyer in court -- relying on obvious innocence is a risky strategy.

Surely a proper lawyer could be found to defend this woman pro-bono -- the prosecution's case is so full of holes and frankly ludicrous he/she should be able to quickly get it thrown out on appeal

Nice article. Very well-written. Goes right to the point, yet gives you just the right amount of details.

Alex,

Society owes you a debt of gratitude for pursuing this.

Gravatar Yup, agree with comments above, and have to wonder a little about the current defence team.

I read somewhere that this is the stuff that Hollywood movies are made out of. Hope so, it might bring home the dangers of adware & spyware home to people.

Julia Roberts was well good in Erin Brockovich, but who to play Alex Eckelberry??

Gravatar Danny Devito.

Gravatar I like the obviously intentionally misdirecting headline the newspaper chose for your article. And the frontpage poll: Do you have trouble disciplining your children? Small towns can often be a cesspool of humanity.

Gravatar I agree with others. This is nonsense.

But what what I find even more un-nerving is the 40 year thing. 40 yrs?

Good grief. Often times killers don't get that. I've never even heard of a drunk driver whose hurt ppl getting that.
