Aunt Pam:
1) When you were twenty, where did you see yourself at the age you are now?
2) I like this question, so I think I'll make everyone answer it: If you had the power to turn any fictional character into a real person, who would it be and what would you do with them (talk, kill them, etc.)?
3) If you could meet any real person, live or dead, who would it be? Why? What would you talk to them about?
4) Where is your favorite place that you have lived?
5) Did you see "The Notebook"? Did you cry?

Mom:
1) Why did you choose my name?
2) Where did you see yourself in 2005 when you were my age?
3) If you had the power to turn any fictional character into a real person, who would it be and what would you do with them (talk, kill them, etc.)?
4) Is there any one you wish you were still in contact with that you aren't?
5) If you had to choose between 5-hour "Pride and Prejudice," "Sense and Sensibility," "Emma" or "Persuasion," which one would you choose to watch every day for the rest of your life? Why? Time will pause while you watch them, so don't let that choose your answer.

Since I don't have a blog. Here are the answers to my questions.
1. You were given family names too. I loved the name R. It seemed to roll off the tongue and it just sounded so melodic to me. Your middle name was for your ancestor who packed up all her stuff even though she was in her 60s and came to Michigan to be with her family. She seemed loyal, loving, and adventurous. I wanted you to be all those things.

2. When I was your age I saw myself as a history professor, probably teaching colonial American or British, in a small liberal arts college. I very much wanted to teach history to people who wanted to learn history.

3. This may sound weird, but I would want to stop Bill Sykes from killing Nancy. I don't know how I would do it, and I am sure that Charles Dickens would be really angry with me for interfering with his book, but I always felt that she didn't have to die. Maybe I would hide Nancy from Bill.

1. I had a friend that I made when I was in Austria between my sophomore and junior years. I really liked him and we kept in contact until he got married. I occasionally think of him still and wonder how he is, does he have children, and now probably grandchildren, what did his life turn out to be like. It would be nice to talk to him again.

5. Do I have to pick one? If time is suspended, I would want to watch them all. I know you think I would pick Pride and Prejudice, but I think I would pick Persuasion instead. It shows that when you make a mistake, you sometimes have the ability to rectify that mistake. I like that idea.

Ha! I put Persuasion to make you choose! I thought you might choose it. I knew it was going to be one of the Ps. I guessed you would choose Persuasion.
Ah, Ciaran Hinds. How I love thee.
