Thanks for your positive view of my Monkeys! I actually wasn't all that attracted to the pattern itself on Knitty, but I was contemplating what could be done with variagated, sort-of stripe-y yarn like the CTH... (Actually I had posed the question in reference to some Socks that Rock that I got in Scottish Highlands, but the CTH was next in the queue.) Someone (I can't remember who) commented that stitch patterns on the bias tend to break up striping and pooling - and off I went. I definitely like the darker colors better, and the fact that they are more of the same color family (sort of) than the yellows and greens on Knitty...

Nice lace socks! I wouldn't have thought they would have turned out so nice given the little photo in the link!!!
