Gravatar This your ghost from Hawaii and I hate to break this to you. But, if you might remeber, I was at the same show (Blue Mountain something or other, Blue Cheer and Steppenwolf). The Blue Cheer lineup at that show had nothing to do with the Vincebus Eruptum/OutsideInside Cheer lineup. Rather, it was the side 2 of the New Improved Blue Cheer lineup. Randy Holden and company. I remember that because I came to see Blue Cheer and it was NOT Blue Cheer that we saw. Even John Kay with Steppenwolf didn't make up for the disappointment of not seeing Dickie Petersen and Leigh Stephens....plus perhaps the best RnR drummer of all time, the mentally challenged Paul Whaley.

Gravatar Just one more because I think you wrote an excelent and definitive piece on Blue Cheer.
The stacks of Marshalls were just awesome. What I'd give for just one of those heads and a cabinet.
I have a huge 1978 Carvin stack in my garage. There's no way I could use something that big and loud to play through today. Yet, I can't bring myself to sell the bloody thing.
Yet, I bought a Casady Signature and am awaiting a Thunderbird I just purchased as well. Where does all that come from?
Thank you, Dickie

Gravatar Yeah I took a bit of literary license with that Mike. I knew it wasn't the Stephens lineup, but mainly was just looking to make the point about all those amps. By the way, the opening band was Blue Mountain Eagle I believe. Hope things are going well with you down there in Oregon, and thanks for commenting.

Gravatar That picture I took of Blue Cheer's Dickie Peterson and posted to my site is not in the public domain.

Your use of the photo is theft and the fact that you hotlink to my server just adds insult to injury.

Had you asked permission I might of agreed to let you use it. Now I am not inclined to do so.

Please remove any of my images and any links to my site from your web page.

Thanks!

Jay Lee

Gravatar Easy there Jay... It's just a picture, and it's down. Sheeesh.

Gravatar It's not "just a picture"
It is my creation. My work.
You sir, are a thief.

Gravatar Glen, you apologized and took it down. I don't know what else you could've done to atone. But Jay just doesn't let it go! I agree with you; it's a picture, not a creation. He photographed an event. Even if he did it the old fashioned way (which I prefer) by setting f-stop, shutter speed and choosing the proper film, he did not create Dickie Petersen and he did not direct the stage lighting. He simply photographed what was. Now to go into Jay's corner. He IS a professional photographer as defined by one who sells their photos and he should've been credited so as to benefit from the free promotion. But man, calling you a thief is stretching it. After all, you weren't remunerated by including the photo.

Gravatar Thanks Mike. I've considered the source and long since moved on. I mean this is still the internet the last time I checked...

So how's unemployment treating you? And is it as fucking hot down your way as it is here? Inquiring minds want to know...

-Glen
