Congratulations! But you know, I still say a truckload of dirt will do wonders for that black hole you so euphemistically call a "pool". (grin) Keep us posted on the progress!
Wow, I think I would be overwhelmed by such filth and neglect. Ya'll seem to be doing well dealing with it. I enjoyed reading about your work and toil.

I've tended many pools over the years, and you're wasting your money if you don't have the pump on. You need a good bit of chlorine and algaecide, run the pump nonstop, and clean the filter every day until the water clears. It might be easier for you to hire a pool service.
Thank you Harry! I won't be able to contact the pool company again until Tuesday, but I hope to have someone out soon to at least show us how to turn the filter on...
