Why can't everyone just do their own thing, and forget about it? It seems like all the different groups are fighting for supremacy.

I always find it curious how pre-occupied with the old country some immigrant groups are. Perhaps because I'm so many generations removed from Scotland and Norway (my ancestry) that I don't pay any attention to the situation in those countries. I consider myself Canadian and removed from any religious or political strife in they may have going on. I wonder if that won't be the case with future Canadians of Lebanese descent.
