It's not about a corvette? Really? I didn't know that!
And I agree about Valentine's Day - and mother's day, and new years....should I continue?

1. I have not made your bread recipe yet...but I will... I have been cooking though! For real! :D
2. Can I use your bathroom?
3. I will spend V-Day at work and then Mass so I will be gone for 12 hours that day. Problem solved!
4. ummm....yes...but I think I'm taller than you ;D
5. You can steal my reason, it's a dang good one.
6. I used WP awhile, never got into the more complicated stuff and converted back to Blogger. But yes it does give you more options.
7. WAIT.....someone in that town has a Corvette???!!

I think the reason they drive so slow is so that everyone will notice them in their "cool" car.

We aren't doing Valentine's Day either. I usually use these filler holidays as an excuse to go out for a more expensive dinner than we normally would, Jay could care less and to be honest I really don't care this year either. So I said let's wait for our birthdays (they're one week apart) and go out then.

I agree with the girls being altar boys. Of course, I think they should wear white cassocks. What is with them dressing like monks and the rope around the waist?
I should have been born in 1940.

I agree with you about the altar girls. It just seems unsettling. At our church, not enough children have signed up, so we have one middle aged woman! That just freaks me out. What is the "little red corvette" song about? I could google it, but I'm too lazy.

Nevermind, I looked it up. Yikes! Now I feel really stupid for not catching on all of these years. I read the lyrics and it was pretty obvious!

Yes, we went out for Valentine's Day last year and it was horrible. The service was slow, the bills got mixed up, and the restaurant was so crowded and noisy that we couldn't really talk, either.
We're staying in and cooking lasagna tonight.

What do you think of women as lectors?
Because the same rationale contra female servers ought to apply to women as lectors. Actually, in the ancient hierarchy of minor orders, lector is closer to the priesthood than is acolyte.

could not agree with you more about the valentine's day outing expectations..i think it makes it worse, too, because of the expectations. we went to see twilight at the $4 theater. just right.
ah, you catholic girl. as a lutheran, we were mixed up all the time. our pastor was just at our house yesterday (she was raised catholic incidentally)getting angry at the pope's (he wasn't pope at the time)aristotlian logic that brought him to the conclusion why women could never be priests. did you know that women were priests before? it must be weird to see something different from the tradition you were raised in though. i've always seen men and women intermingling jobs (bishops, pastors, altar kiddos, etc...), so it seems weird to me to have a fixed role. can you tell i have insomnia?? good thing it's a holiday tomorrow.

AnotherOne, I haven't answered, yet, because I'm trying to decide what I think!
Really, for me, the issue with girl servers is simply that I don't adapt well to change. I grew up with male and female lectors, so that doesn't bother my sesibilities in the same what that female servers do.

I agree with you about Valentine's Day. It's totally a Hallmark holiday. I don't see the point.
