Ok, first off, I think y'all should live blog AI. 'Cause I would love to hear your thoughts on it all ... Blake singing effing 311, how Sanjaya might actually have looked less straight than Clay Aiken with his hair like that, how Sundance is so lame that even I hate him now and seriously I LOVE stocky guys ...
Second, I don't know that it is so much a race thing ... I think that it might be a size issue. People didn't want to think of a plus sized singer nude. Plus, Idol has always treated bigger women differently than skinnier singers. I mean, hell, they used to basically call any woman who wasn't a size 6 fat until people pointed out that, hey, Reuben was huge. Also, that was during the first days of Idol and they were testing the boundaries ... they didn't know if people would FLIP out and not watch.

Bent Fabric, I agree that Antonella is a mess but I have no beef with Frenchie. She was at least talented. Now big mouth Rosie is on the act so this should continue for the next few days at least. Oh the drama!
Arguably, the difference is that Frenchie posed nude for pay and Antonella didn't. I get that.
However, I seem to recall that Becky O'Whatsername from last season posed nude with her twin sister in Maxim (with cutsie-poo strategically positioned props to cover the nipplage and other naughty bits). I'm pretty sure she got paid for that photoshoot. Becky O., a hot, skinny, white chick, got to go on to the top 24.
On the other hand, rumor has it that Ebony Joinder was dq'ed or not selected for top 40 because she posed in lingerie for some football themed thingy. Maybe it's just a rumor, but she is a (thin, attractive) woman of color.
It may just be a coincidence, but it also arguably may appear to be a bit like a double-standard.
