I'd like to say that VFTW overestimates it's influence, but there was that horrible wife-beater guy a few seasons back that was their first project. As an AI fan, it makes me sorta sad that people do their best to corrupt the process, but as a cynic, I can't help but see the fun in it.
Either way, if they're going to change the voting system, it will be awfully difficult for them -- especially because if they limit individual voting they won't be able to say they got 30+ million votes every night (ignoring how many of them are repeats or from automated dialing programs). Those numbers were being touted as histotically impressive (more votes than GWB or Al Gore got), but one forgets the slipshod method.
I don't know if they'll change, or really if they should -- but it will be interesting to see either way.
How's that for a non-statement?!

Like, I know I posed the question and stuff but I honestly don't have an answer to it. I'd like to say that it's journalistic integrity and the need to be impartial that prevents me from answering but, nope! I'm stumped! I'm sure producers are wondering if there is a way around the mass voting issue but, like you said, it would be really difficult to do something new.
I wonder if they're going to have the judges have more of a say in who stays and who goes? Maybe factor in their votes in addition to the viewers'?
Changes must come!
I think the judges should decide who goes in the bottom two, then let America vote from there.
It's a great show that must be saved.
