Are there any occasions where Blake has been arrogant or said anything arrogant that would warrant him being taken down a notch (or twelve)? He's been criticized before by the judges, several times, and has never said a word. Meanwhile, the first time Melinda hears a negative word, and she takes a shot at Simon. So shouldn't she be the one who is seen as arrogant?
If JLo were married to Kevin Federline, I'd say Blake was a suck-up for picking one of his songs, but Marc Anthony is/was very popular in the Latin music circuit. Blake was smart to pick one of his songs, and he did a great job.
I thought he was by far the best performance this time around.

Take a wee nip of my Riesling before you read my bitchy recaps, Jon. I promise to do the same when I read your overly serious comments/love letters to Blake from now on. We'll all be much happier I assure you.

I watched the first 20 minutes of this last night. Having never watched this season before, I just wanted to ask if the stylists hate LaKisha because, damn. I was blinded by her back fat.
And her ginormous titays.

She should have to tie one of those fluorescent flags on her boobs like the ones drivers need to attach to large objects bursting out of their pick-ups. Those things are a danger to us all.

"We'll all be much happier I assure you."
I realize your recaps are supposed to be sarcastic, but I think that it's odd to say Blake is arrogant or needs to be taken down a notch when he's actually one of the only people left who has never talked back to the judges, even when they've criticized him. Lakisha, Melinda, Jordin, Sanjaya, Phil, they've all said one comment or another. Yet Blake never has.

I don't measure arrogance strictly in terms of who's talked back to Simon and who hasn't. Blake has an unspoken swagger to him that I find dick-like and arrogant. Also, there was a rumor that one of the guys backstage had a raging ego and was certain he had the competition in the bag. A site, I believe it was TMZ, but don't quote me, asked the audience to guess who the egomaniac was and Blake won by a landslide. So I'm not the only one who's picked up on it.
But again, it's just my bitchy opinion and it will no way impede Blake. He'll be beatboxing all the way to the bank and into the knickers of hot chicks with nary a care about what I think about him. Huzzah and hooray for him.
Now let's make nice and go have that glass of Riesling, yes?

I think Alaina (one of the girls who wa s eliminated in the semifinals) said Chris Sligh was the one who was arrogant. I'm not sure about Blake. I guess he could be arrogant backstage.
We all see our own view, and I wasn't trying to tell you otherwise. I apologize if I came across that way. I've just seen so many contestants talk back this season that I appreciate the few who don't, and who can accept criticism like adults.

I like Blake. But I also like reading your snarky comments about him. Yes, I'm a hypocrite.
Chris committed a crime against humanity last night. It was so bad.

Phil was using the American Sign Language sign for "I love you." Granted, it may not have been the smartest move when they are giving your number for voting! LOL

Ha! I didn't even notice it was sign language. Still, he's a dumb ass... and pandering for the deaf vote.

Worst. Episode. This. Season.
First off, I like the song "Sway," (Have the PCD version on my workout playlists, but I thought Melinda needed to spice it up. I did think Simon was excessively mean to her just to be mean, which sucks.
Blake does come across as arrogant. You'd have to be arrogant to wear those stupid plaid pants he rocks. Also, did it sound to anyone else like he was trying to do some sort of fake Latino accent? Horrible.
Kiki looked TERRIBLE. Seriously, they need to know how to dress her ... that polyester dress she was wearing did nothing to flatter her body. And her song choice was lame.
I agree that Phil is going. Sanjaya was creepy, but he has "fans" or whatever. And Simon's "meanness" to Haley about her half nakedness probably bought her a lot of votes.

I think the bottom 3 might be Haley, Chris, and LaKisha. LaKisha and her double F's might be on their way home.

okay, i'ma try this again. i left a poignant, thoughtful comment first thing this morning, but it got lost in cyberspace. so i'm just gonna vomit this one up.
i laughed my ass off the whole way through your posting first thing this morning. some of my favorite litle chunks:
"Creepy Phil makes me shit my pants at least once a week."
"she lacked a smoldering passion but there's only so much heat one can exude when completely devoid of a neck." (i'm so glad i'm not the only one who sees that her head goes from chin to chest in 0.2 seconds.)
"Is it just me or did Sanjaya look just like El DeBarge tonight?" (no. it wasn't just you.)
and finally, "Phil, pack your coffin and go.".
holy shit, that's good stuff.

Your Riesling induced recaps are comical. Enjoyed your comment about Mel's neck and your 80's tribute to Jordin.
I like Blake but there definitely is a silent hubristic quality to him.
It's too bad Sanjina, um, Sanjaya didn't pull a William Hung with a rendition of She Bangs. How hilarious would that have been?!
