Americans won't vote against something the supremes (local or not) have anointed as law. We have a twisted understanding of judicial authority as though it were truly 'supreme.'

Is it surprising?
Anyone who grew up watching TV in the late 70's until now has been slowly but surely brainwashed to consider homosexual activity as normal.
Of course, you're right that people don't care if they think it doesn't affect them.
