Gravatar Well Tertullian isn't really concidered a Church father anyway. He wrote lots of good things until he went into schism.

So in a way Tertullian really was a proto-Protestant where private judgement superceded the Church.

Gravatar So in a sense, there's a certain poetic justice in these folks' "rehabilitation" of the man. To deepen the irony, Tertullian is even more a forerunner of modern-day Pentecostalism, which usually draws a resounding anathema from folks of this stripe.

Thomas, thanks for the link, and the consistent "info-tainment." :0)

Gravatar Being a convert to Catholicism from the Baptist sect of heritics I know what you mean. They really have no clue of Church history. To them, Church history begins in the 16th century. I mean, for goodness sakes, have you read the infamous "Trail of Blood" they have? It's classic... After all, John the Baptist was obviously a Baptist.

Gravatar the "Tertull" became a Christian by becoming a Montanist? Is Julian the apostate in this "christian hall of fame" for whining (Baptist-like) "You Christians never cease calling Mary the mother of God." (From his TREATISE AGAINST THE GALILIANS) Did anyone else begin to hear clown music in their heads as the read the link?
