It is truly amazing and more than a little comical how quickly 'truth' can squash and render absurd error.
Thanks for the pick me up!! Better than a cup of joe.

Fraternal correction? Ha, give me a break. The Conference of Bishops first needs to get its own house in order before they worry about correcting someone of the stature of Bishop Bruskewitz. Is this the SAME Conference of Bishops that has cost God's people 1.5 billion (and counting) in child abuse costs as the post in your next blog reports?

Well, does the Charter require the Diocese of Lincoln to "participate in the (Board's) audit process." Unless it does, Peters has no grounds to question the Bishop's position.
If the Charter does require it, it is inappropriate for the Board and Ewers to call publicly for fraternal correction.

Robert - thanks for pointing that out ... but look at the main post on my blog rigt now...
Charles - it looks like participation is mandated for every diocese in the U.S. I agree with you however that the public call for a "fraternal correction" is uncalled for (and a misuse of the true meaning of the term in Canon Law).

Good for Bishop B. He stands for the dignity of clergy, which ashamedly few others fought for 2 years ago. I know priests who were sacrificed to the lions in a panic. There's no denying there was a sexual abuse problem, but it isn't the Church's problem, now; our problem, which led to the laxity that allowed slimy sexual abuse to get a foothold, is the lack of fire and salt in the face of wily pro-secularism. Bishop B. takes care of his own flock; he is in charge, and that's that. AS it should be. He is one of today's Boanerges. Please, more of these, Lord. It's time for us to take back the Church.

Kudos for the eparch of Newton as well. There's the other Twin! Abuse is always a serious issue, but it's being dealt with. Bottomline, the Church will never need the progressive ultra-American non-Catholic finger-pointing. Talk about a thorn in the side.
