So Commonweal is a bit peeved that the vibrant Princeton Catholic community is faithful to the Magesterium? I do believe that is what it means to be Catholic. Many secular campuses have burgeoning Catholic communities. That these communities tend towards orthodox Roman Catholicism shouldn't be surprising. It is the same in parishes and diocese around the country. The orthodox ones are flourishing. As my kids are gradually heading one by one to college, I wish there was a guide to point out which secular campuses offer a faithful Catholic community.
Yeah, and I notice that we don't get any participation percentages from more "ecumenical" and "broad" programs like those at Yale and Stanford. I'd love to see whether they have managed to get nearly a third of the young Catholics on their campuses involved!
