I like the Gnostic Gospels. They tend to portray Christ like that fiery wizard from Monty Python's Holy Grail, Stephen. He goes around blowing things up and killing people and animals for the sheer joy of showing off his omnipotent power.
But he is NOT God ...
Sheesh.
But the Gnostic gospels are yet another place where the Law of Catholic Irony applies. Many of the groups that seek to use them to push their agenda like feminine and gay supremacists will have their ultimate goals summarily quashed in the very texts upon which they pin their Satanic hopes.
In the Gospel of Thomas, Christ refers to women as not human compared to men, who are "fully human."
In the Pistis Sophia, Jesus says the fate of "the man who hath intercourse with males ... is the same as that of the blasphemer. When then the time is completed ... the receivers of Yaldabaoth (I don't know) come after their soul, and he with his forty-and-nine demons taketh vengeance on it eleven years. Thereafter they carry it to the fire-rivers and seething pich-seas, which are full of demons with pigs' faces. They eat into them ..."
It actually gets worse from there.
In another example of the Law of Catholic Irony, the pro-homosexual blog I got that quote from actually suggests suppressing this aspect of their "gospel" in order to keep the teaching in line with their beliefs (!)
So, all we got to do is wait another thousand years or so, and come out with our OWN Dan Brown and show how the real Gnostic Gospels were tampered with by shallow "winners" who only wanted temporal power. (Whatever, they too shall pass).
Incidentally, this means traditional Gnosticism is also included in the list of world religions that condemn homosexuality and/or homosexual acts (the rest of the world's religions already having that quality).
