It's interesting that, according to this, the young people were focusing on things like "undoing" and "forgettting". Forgiveness is not about those things--who ever said it was? I don't recall being taught that. It's also interesting that, in my humble opinion at least, these kids seem to see forgiveness working backwards, so to speak; I forgive others because _I_ need it, not because they do (although they do). Yes, I need to be forgiven for all the bad things I do--but in forgiving others, I, frankly, am probably also the greatest beneficiary. |
