"Oh, and as far as being "designed cancer free", well, it's true the baby won't develop the treatable cancer mentioned in the article. But a cure to the cancer wasn't found. Instead, they just killed the babies that did inherit the predisposition. Some solution."
Exactly! They're making it sound as though there were some huge medical breakthrough here.

Genetic screening is one of the great absurds of the contemporary world. An undisguised attempt to create eugenic human beings (and perhaps, in the long run, an eugenic society), by killing all the embryos that do not conform.

This article sickens me. We are seeing the nightmare come out of its bottle again. This stuff is called Eugenics. Wasn't Magaret Sanger (founder of Planned Parenthood) was a proponent of? So were the Nazis.

Anybody watch the movie Gattaca? If you haven't then I would recommend renting it and watching it. It takes the idea of genetically designing babies to its logical conclusion--those who are genetically engineered are the new "upper class" and can get any job they want, while those who are naturally born are forced into menial jobs (custodial, etc.)
