I'm gonna pass on this movie. I'm not about to contribute to Dan Brown's bank account! (I've read DVC, but thankfully, my copy was given to me by a friend.) I'd rather wait for the new Superman movie, or the third installment of X-Men.
If -- and I say "if" -- I see this movie, I'll just borrow a DVD from any of my friends who might get one -- all I really want to see are the interiors of the Louvre, and all the European locations. If none of my friends buys a DVD of it, no big deal if I miss the movie. But I certainly am not going to shell out my hard-earned money to see this movie, either on the big screen or on DVD. The lies in the book are terrible enough -- why should I have to watch them onscreen? I've got better things to do with my life.

I'll watch it, but only if I can strike up a deal with the manager of the movie theater to let me buy a ticket to a different movie and then just go into the DVC. That way I spend the proper amount, the theater makes the proper amount, but all the stats go to the other movie.

If you ARE going to see the movie, don't do it this week or this weekend.
A movie's popularity/success rating is based on attendance at its first weekend.

My husband and I were just talking about this the other night. (But then who wasn't) At first he was thinking about going to see the movie, he read the book and liked it, but that was before he became Catholic and I don't think he can really remember the book. (He's got a really bad memory). But then he thought if he saw it now as a hard core Catholic he wouldn't like it. So we decided neither of us want to see the movie. We wouldn't go to see a movie that spread viscous lies about our earthly family so why go see one that did that to our spiritual family? And lets be honest...sometimes members of the Church do henious things and therefore people have REAL greivences with the Church(it's members anyway) but when somebody starts telling lies about Jesus...well, there is no justifying supporting that sort of thing.

I like Barbara Nicolosi's idea that we should all go see Over the Hedge and make it the biggest blockbuster of the summer this weekend instead.

If you're watching this movie, prepare to defend the Church! Read your catechism!

This co-worker (knows I'm Catholic) said I should see the movie so that it can, "open my eyes to the truth about the catholic fatih...," well I told him that I had already read the heretical gnostic gospels and that if was interested in learning about a real life secret society, he should dig into freemasonry. I don't think he appreciated that too much as I think his father was a 32nd degree mason. I think I hit a nerve.

I think I might go see it. As an 18year old that would like to be able to talk badly about the film, I just make it a policy to see stuff before I make fun of it (except Brokeback Mountain...)
What will probably happen is me paying for "stick it" and going to see DVC...

Anyone who goes to seen this heretical rubbish needs a real history lesson and a life. Indeed, there is no need to contribute to Dan Brown's Bank Account.

I do not want to see the daVinci Code; I am so SICK of hearing about it I'm ready to throttle Dan Brown. Nevertheless my mother is laying down the guilt about it (You never want to do anything with me, do you?) so I suppose I'll have to go, *sigh*. If Momma ain't happy...
Plus my best friend wants to see it and she doesn't want to go alone, oh no! Won't go with my mother, that would be too easy, *sigh*.
I'll end up seeing the thing twice, the last thing I want to do. The soundtrack is lovely, at least.
Pray for me, why do I do things like this?

I am going to see it. Absolutely. I borrowed the book, read that (the first pulp novel I've read in years.) And I'm going to watch the film.
I think it's incumbent on us to see it. We need to know what we're dealing with, to properly discuss it with people.
I think that idea of buying aticket for another show is genius, though. Will definitely stick it to 'em.
I actually enjoy all this, partly out of snobbery (mea culpa), partly for the farcical nature of the entire thing, but mostly because it's sparked a lot of good, fruitful discussions.
I honestly think the Church & Opus Dei are making a propaganda coup out of this. Those who have ears are listening. Protestants, others of good will are seeing us attacked for the Gospel. And that my friends is a cause for rejoicing. Thank God for Dan Brown. God grant us many more like him. Amen.
Seriously, I'm loving Opus Dei. What a class act. God bless you guys. S. Jose Maria, pray for us. +

I'm going to see it, but only next week (see Fr Stephanos's suggestion). I found the book interesting as fiction (too bad it's being sold as being true), and this is why I'll watch the film. Besides, it'll be great to revisit the Louvre, it's simply magnificent.

Still have yet to decide if I am going to see. On the one hand I don't want to give anymore money to fools who put this thing together. On the other, since so many people will be talking about it, I'd like to be able to have logical discussion and rebut it.
