Archbishop Flynn charged that the "fruits" were not helpful at all to Holy Mother Church but were building a parallel structure. They cause more division than growth, in my experience (and I was a member for many years).

Janice, it's terrible because (1) he apparently abused his position to hurt others and (2) the Legion of Christ now has a black mark on it's otherwise beautiful reputation.
