Oh dear... The Opus guy's name is Valero, not Valera. A shame the "Scotsman" people couldn't get this right.

There was a hilarious article by him in last week's Tablet about their media work re DVC. He wrote there that now they are getting about two emails each day requesting membership in Opus Dei. That's what Dan Brown can do for you... :-)
