Yet another reason why a new pope should be very careful when choosing his name: a lot of little boys are going to wind up with it;-)

Very good point, altho in the United States "Benedict" is still double-sided at best, even if Benedict Arnold was the hero of Saratoga...
I doubt he thought about it, but did the Holy Father ever realize his choice of a papal name hits a clinker over here in the US? On the other hand, maybe it's time for a revival of the name, hee hee.

Just a line to say thanks for adding the story to your weblog. It's our little boy and we'd chosen the name before he was born and it's a lovely story that he was born on Easter Sunday, the Pope's own birthday. Also a little Christian Witness, - there's not too many famous fold in the UK with the name Benedict - no pop stars or football players!!
