Um. Was this in news or opinion? 'Cause it's pretty blatantly biased...
I've often thought that in some ways God was protecting the Church from the "experiments" conducted after Vatican II in part by having some of those who would become priests wait until they were older and somewhat less impressionable. I think in some ways history may show the temporary drop in vocations to have been a blessing in disguise for the Church. It is a difficult thing to go through for sure, but then so were the Roman persecutions.
This is the least of it. I have it on good authority that the Catholic Church wants people [making sure you are sitting down] to pray!
I am going to say something we all been thinking but are too afraid to say: The Catholic Church is a front organization for God!
Of course, since the height of the scandals- vocations have increased!
How would he explain that?

The dude who wrote it needs to be following trends a little more closely.

It sounds like he is really saying: "Hey everyone look, that bad old Catholic Church is tring to enourage vocations to the priesthood, those bad guys..."

Look the "world" is never gonna "get" us. We should just accept this and go on our way. The people who want to hear, will; the rest will be left scratching their heads.
Yes, it is sad how clearly biased the "reporter" reveals himself to be.
