AmericanPapist Comments

Gravatar She has really changed in the last few years. Most notably was her music from religious to pop

Gravatar That's what happens when peer pressure means more to you than integrity. B16 a Nazi? She's trying to fit in with someone.

I feel sorry for her future self, that she has to live with this. She'll wise up to it, but I wish she could have a fresh start when she's ready, and celebs just don't get a chance to do this.

Gravatar Nothing more likely to make the behavior of a Charlotte Church more real - and more appealing - than the shocked disapproval of the priggish, and IP's Carl Olsen seems to have a special penchant for this kind of outrage. One wonders if the Di Vinci Code would have enjoyed the notoriety it received if it weren't for the tut-tutting of the Carl Olsens of the world. But there's money to be made writing books on such themes and the market for such books needs development, eh? Might we call such a thing "Cathsploitation"? I think so.

John Lowell

Gravatar John Lowell: This is your last warning. Reign it in or I'm banning you from my comboxes. Neither me nor my visitors have to put up with this nonsense anymore. Thank you.

Gravatar AmericanPapist,

I'll bet you're so mad you could just spit, huh, AmericanPapist? Well I think I understand how you must feel. I get mad too when someone smears me on your cotton-pickin comboxes, I e-mail you to complain about it and you do absolutely zilch to remedy it. And now I've somehow ruffled your delicate sensibilities with the comment I made above? Well I'll own that comment, thank you, I'm entirely happy with it. But you, that's not your style. You have all of the substance and personal integrity of a segregationist judge. I mean, really, do I need you?

Before I go, I'll challenge you to leave these last remarks of mine unedited here. Frankly, it would be my guess that you'd lack the spine for something quite that honest. That was the way you behaved last time if I recall.

John Lowell

Gravatar Sure, I have no problem leaving the monuments to the stupidity of man standing. I find them to be a nice reminder of free-will, and of man's constant tendency to abuse it.

As for the "smear" that was voiced against you - I found it no less voiciforous than the tripe you have been doling out on my comboxes for days. Your inability to see the situation both ways is only confirmed by calling my a "segregationist judge" and "lacking a spine." Really, ad hominem attacks are the last refuge of those without arguments - and charity.

Specks, Motes, and all that.

- Thomas

Gravatar Thomas, you don't need this nonsense. This is your website, you are the only souvereign and have the plenipotestas. Do your readers a favour: Don't discuss, just ban him!

Gravatar Well, I was wrong. I said to myself last night when I read Thomas' warning that Mr. Lowell would call him a Nazi. Instead he showed great restraint in only comparing him to a segregationist judge.

Gravatar Victor - no worries. He's history.

Gravatar This girl has had issues for a few years now. I don't know what in the world happened to make her snap but when she did, she did it all the way. What a mess. I'm glad I don't own any of her music.
