Gravatar Unfortunately, I think the only way we'll see truly lasting peace in the region is for the Islamic people themselves to decide they no longer want terrorists around them. It will be a long and difficult decision and quite a trial for them, but I don't think it's the type of thing that can be imposed from the outside no matter how good the intentions may be.

Every revolution (aside, perhaps from a military coup) is really a revolution of public thought; when that occurs in the Mideast, I think we'll see peace perhaps sooner than we may anticipate. But I'm the hopeful type.

Gravatar I remember reading St Josemaria Escriva commenting on the relationship between peace and war and he added: "There is no peace without victory." Though spiritually intended by the St., I'm hopeful that Israel will remove Hizbollah before the "chatterers" take over.

Then the Muslims with such a desire will have to cease to be Muslim, BECAUSE in order to be a faithful Muslim, one has to WANT, ENCOURAGE, and PARTICIPATE IN (whenever possible) war against "the infidels" (non-Muslims) at all times, for all times, until Islam reigns throughout the world. It's the teaching of their religion as revealed by their "prophet".
