Dear Thomas,
My first reaction when I saw the photo was, "What's up with those boots?!" Then I noticed it's merely the lighting!

I'm hoping she and Pope Benedict will record a duet.

I was just going to say. . . a piano face-off with the Holy Father could be quite interesting. ;-)

Michael Barber of SINGING IN THE REIGN will be on fox news this saturday talking about the Catholic view of the Book of Apocalypse (revelation). I think it porbably will center on the evangelicals use of the book and their dispensationalist theology as it relates to their support (and, in some cases goading) of the current mid-east conflict. If that's so, it should be interesting. Here for details: http://singinginthereign.blogspo...seen-on-

Oooooooo, a Condi-Papa duet, I'd be the first to buy it! But what will they play? Personally I love Brahms. But Papa Benedict loves Mozart; what does the valiant Secratary of State enjoy? In any case such a recording would be a little touch of Heaven.

As the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (Germany's top quality newspaper) titled: "Brahms, The First German Present at an ASEAN Summit"

Helper, as I understand the whole thing her performance took place after an official dinner. Usually the partakers present lighter stuff, such as sketches a.s.o. Ms Rice chose Brahms because she said in times of war there is no place for jokes. Take it for what it's worth...

Whether she was in a gown or not, it's impressive.
