I'm in my early teens so a lot of those questions I can't answer.

1. The book that most influenced me was CUE FOR TREASON Bby Geoff Trease. It was set in Shakespeare's England and was about two teenage runaways who while acting in Shakespeare's acting company thwart a plot against the queen. It got me interested in both reading and history.

3. On another site I used the same quote from GKC. I heard it on EWTN. My real answer was the book of Psalms, which I enjoy.

6. The book I wish had been written: THE DECLINE AND FALL OF THE CULTURE OF DEATH by Pope John Paul II.

7. One book I wish had never been written: IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD by Hillary Clinton. This was my mom's answer.

I tried reading Zane Gray's THE LAST RANGER. It was a major yawn. I enjoy Louis L'Amour westerns.

Thom -
Have you ever read The Intellectual Life? (Forward by none other than AMC's honorary alum Fr. Schall...) Mark G. was raving about it, so I picked up a copy. I hope I can say, looking back, that reading it changed my life. We'll see what fruit it bears this year!

God Love You, Thomas! I have been gone for the last several days and only saw your post right now. In the event that you actually did tag me here it is for your perusal and approval:

(By the way, I saw Jay Anderson tag me first, so apologies if yours was actually "first in time.")

Gravatar Wow! I can't believe that I was the first to tag you!!

(I particularly liked your desert island choice!)

Gravatar Thanks for the reminder that I should read Russell Kirk's book.
