Gravatar They're doing it to make Israel look more villainous. It's absolutely cruel.

Gravatar "This is not a new strategy for Hezbollah. Col. Charbel Barka, a former South Lebanese Army commander"

I think you mean "Charbel Barakat".
The "Southern Lebanese Army" were people operating with Israel against the Lebanese state. They are commonly known as traitors.

Gravatar Sorry, I forgot to add that there are no true statistics concerning the Christian/Muslim population in Lebanon.
Some will say that 70% are muslims, others insist that Christians are still around 50% of the population.
The last census was done in 1920 or 1921.

Gravatar The SLA was comprised of Sunni, Druzes, and Christains who worked were government before the civil war. When things went to heck in a hand basket most of the army fought against the PLO who invaded Lebanon. From the end of the civil war to 2000 the SLA fought against the Syrians and Hezbollah. When Israel left Lebanon in 2000 there was a large Arab (Sunni, Druze, and Christain) emigration to Israel and the US.

The last government census was in 1932 and the last UN census was in 1989.

Gravatar Catholicgauze: What were the results of the 1932 & 1989 censuses ?
