Thanks for keeping the awareness up on this important -- and very disappointing -- saga.

Gravatar Well, two down. How many are left?

Scuttlebutt I've heard is that, in addition to AMU's rather spectacular and public implosion, UD won't last much longer as an accredited institution.

That leaves what schools? Christendom and Steubenville that I know of.

Gravatar Other Mandatum Schools (according to National Catholic Register) and regional accreditation
Benedictine College -- North Central
Belmont Abbey College -- Southern
DeSales University -- Middle States
University of St. Thomas (Houston) -- Southern

Gravatar FWIW, I don't think UD would qualify as a "Mandatum school" as I belive Bp. Grahhman, the current ordinary of the Diocese of Dallas refuses to give it.

Thanks, Chris from St. Mary's

Gravatar Hmmm ...

According to the NCR(egister) list, Christendom is an Oath of Fidelity School, not a mandatum school.

Also according to the Mandatum school list http://ncregister.com/articulo.p....php? artkod=ODk, UD is Mandatum, not Oath of Fidelity.

And TAC (Oath of Fidelity school) also is regionally accredited -- Western.

Gravatar Is is possible to separate screwy administration from solid academics? I can tell you that I've met several dozen AMU students over the last few years and I am very impressed with their caliber.

Is AMU going to shut down over this? I am not defending criminal activity in any way, or even unfair treatment. But every school that makes a major change usually upsets many people, and getting around inconvenient contracts often means lawsuits from the disgruntled. And the school goes on, if it's any good. If AMU goes on, should we boycott it? Or may we respect its academics even if we dislike its administration.
