Wow, that was AWESOME. There's reason why Asians are considered the smartest people in the world.
And he was cute, too!

This makes me feel a lot worse about employing the take-all-the-stickers-off method back in 1983.

Sick nasty.
The most difficult part was memorizing where all the colors were and mapping out how he's going to rearrange it.
Once you have the dexterity down... money in the bank.

Dorian,
By taking off the stickers, you risk not getting them to stick again. I normally went with a screwdriver myself.

I thought this video was so cool (and because I'm a Japanophile!) I went back to you tube and did a search on Shotaro Makisumi ("Macky" as he's called). There are so many clips of this kid! He's a like an international Rubik's genius. Anyway, I thought you all would like this clip:

It's a little film about Macky--it's made in Japanese, but you can still enjoy the film even with the language barrier. It's hilarious, too. Macky performing his stunts in a coffee shop to the bewilderment of the tattoo-ed cashier. Macky doing the Rubik's while crossing the street. Best part: Macky calmly and cooly performing his magic for a group of blonde American teen girls who are all giggling with amazement. It's so cute. Enjoy this film of this wonder boy!
