The Pope will later travel by car to his home village of Marktl am Inn, where he will visit the parish church of St. Oswald.
That, given the choice, is the stop on the Pope's itinerary that I'd most like to attend. Can you imagine the thrill for the local folks?
I truly hope that this, his second trip to Germany, will bear as much fruit as the first two trips by John Paul II back to his homeland. Granted, there's no Iron Curtain, but there is a spiritual adversary much greater--Germany in the age of skepticism and unbelief.
