Lest anyone think that Il Papa is wimping out, they should read the Bertone statement as well. It sounds like a very firm but loving parent saying: "I'm sorry you feel that way, and I didn't mean to hurt your feelings ... but this is how things stand, and I want you to think about it."

Il Papa may be sorry for the reactions, but he's not taking back his speech -- and why should he? It's magnificent.

I'm so sorry their feelings were hurt so badly. But they should not have trashed churches and killed the nun. Nasty little cowards.
