Algebra was around before Mohammed, and Arabic numerals were actually stolen from the Hindus, who the Muslims were killing at enormous rates. I still think that they haven't given us anything by themselves. They say that they gave us back the texts of Aristotle, but we wouldn't have lost them in the first place if the Muslims had not conquered the Christian communities and dismantled their libraries along the Mediterranean.

So its either:
"Hey, Omar! Long as we've got everyone here, let's get a little anti-America action going. We don't want to get rusty."

or its just force of habit. Kind of like Pavlov's dog only with a fire.
