Insightful and well written. But I am disappointed Pope Benedict didn't hum, Oh, take me back to Constantinople, But you can't go to Constantinole, 'Cause it's Istanbul not Constantinople.... hee hee

Or how about this:
"Istanbul was Constantinople
Now it's Istanbul, not Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Now it's Turkish delight on a moonlit night
Every gal in Constantinople
Lives in Istanbul, not Constantinople
So if you've a date in Constantinople
She'll be waiting in Istanbul
Even old New York was once New Amsterdam
Why they changed it I can't say
People just liked it better that way
So take me back to Constantinople
No, you can't go back to Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Why did Constantinople get the works
That's nobody's business but the Turks."

Actually, it's not nobody's business but the Turks'. It's the Greeks' business, and indeed the business of all Christendom. I have lived to see Stalingrad become St Petersburg again. Keep praying, folks.

Salome,
"Christendom" unfortunately barely exists right now and is under assault. Too many supposedly Christian countries are more worried about not offending the Turks and Muslims crying "Why do they Hate us?" instead of worrying "How can we stop them?"
Christians need to pray and remember their history. The last time around Christendom only survived because in Europe fought tooth and nail over the course of Hundred's of years (forget about just five years of "war on terror" just doesn't compare.). The only way they were able to do that was they believed totally in God and had faith in their salvation. Europe (and the rest of Christendom) does not have that surety of purpose with all the moral relativism that exists right now.
