The article about San Francisco calling the Catholic Church's policy hateful is disturbing (and ironic considering the city named for a Catholic saint).
The unfortunate thing is that the lawyers for Thomas More did not follow an obvious line of reasoning. The government for some time now has been using the idea of hate as a legal basis for judgement, And if San Francisco has labeled the Church as hateful, they clearly have attached a legal idea to the Church. Is this not making a law respecting (that is regarding) religion? What sort of legal repressions will the government now be able to make?? Truly frightening.
